Graih - a home for the homeless
"God sets the lonely in families..."

 - Psalm 68:6 (NIV)

Welcome to Graih, a Manx word meaning love and charity that no-one can pronounce! We are a small charity based in Douglas in the Isle of Man seeking to love and serve the homeless. Please look around to find out more about us.

The short film below gives you a taste of what we do. There is a longer version available directly from us; please contact Michael Manning on the details below.

Graih - short version

Our history - Stauros, Broadway, the drop-in, the house, small roots and stumbling steps...

Our work - practical provision, work in the community, visiting, walks, hospitality...

Get involved - volunteering, work in the community, charitable donations, houses of hospitality...

Our Statement of Faith - although we make no demands of faith on volunteers or the guys, as a Christian charity this is what we believe...
Membership - how to become a member of Graih...

Resources - a book, DVDs and studies; get a deeper insight into Graih's work and related issues...

We're always interested to hear from people with the time and skills to raise funds for us! Please contact Michael Manning on the details below.

Needs and News

Please see the 'How to get involved' section above for more information about donating or volunteering with us. We would love to hear from you!

Michael Manning has had a book published. No King but God draws on his experiences with Graih.

Further details can be found under the Resources section above.

We've recently acquired use of a small workshop space and if you have any tables, chairs, tools etc please let us know!
We are particularly interested in exploring the idea of an intentional community here on the island. This would offer a place of hospitality to so many struggling with their wounds in poor accommodation, as well as providing an environment where work would be encouraged. A property, preferably with land, is required for this. We would love to speak to anyone who would like to be involved in any way. Please contact Michael Manning on the details below.
